Summit Tax & Advisory has been filing out of Austin since 2004. We could have grown into the kind of practice where you meet a partner once and never again. We deliberately didn't.
Dana Whitfield started the firm after a decade at a national practice, having watched too many owner-operated businesses get the service that was left over once the large accounts were handled.
Twenty-two years later there are four licensed professionals and a small support team, filing for 336 businesses and their families across 22 states. That number grows slowly and on purpose — we'd rather turn work away than become the firm Dana left.
Most of our clients arrive from another accountant. Usually not because anything went wrong, but because nobody called them between February and April.
How we work
- The person who prepares your return answers the phone
- There is no account manager layer. Four licensed people, and you deal with the one doing the work.
- We say no when the answer is no
- If software would serve you better, or an election won't pay at your profit level, we say so. It costs us a fee and saves you more.
- Deadlines are our problem, not yours
- We track every filing you owe and chase the documents we need for it. Missing one is a failure on our side.
- Fees are quoted before work starts
- In writing, with the assumptions listed. If something changes the number, you hear it before the invoice.
